Southwest Ireland | County Kerry

Kerry Bog Village is an open air museum which gives people an insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is located on popular Ring of Kerry between Killorglin and Glenbeigh (road N70), just beside the Red Fox Inn. The replicas of the dwellings are very carefully prepared with strong attention to details and equipped with furniture, objects of everyday use and tools from that period. The village includes the turf cutter's dwelling, the forge, the stable dwelling and hen house, the labourer's cottage and the thatcher's house. In addition to the all interesting objects and exhibits there are also a very unique native Irish animals which can be seen in Kerry Bog Village Museum: The Irish Wolfhounds (one of the tallest dog breeds) and the Kerry Bog Ponies.
