Gallarus Oratory

Gallarus Oratory (Irish: Séipéilín Ghallarais, what means "The Church of the Place of the Foreigners") located on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, it is probably early Christian church. Is believed to have been built between the 6th century and 9th century. There is no clear evidence when and by whom was built but one is sure, it was built with perfect precision. It has shape of upturned boat with rectangular base (interior dimensions are 4.8 m by 3 m or 15 ft by10 ft), is constructed from local stone with no mortar and stays with any reconstruction until this day. The walls are 1.2 m (over 3 feet) thick with linteled doorway (1.67 m or 5.5 ft high) and small window in the east wall.
